“Sugar Free Allstars are an all-around winner. They are great, well trained musicians. Their music teaches, entertains, inspires – it rocks. The crowd was on their feet, singing, dancing, and having a wonderful time, right along with the orchestra. SFA knows what they’re doing!”

 Executive Director, Oklahoma City Philharmonic

“It’s like Parliament Funkadelic were staffed entirely with Muppets.”

This is genuine music that doesn’t talk down to kids; it includes them in the funk.”

Get ready to rock the concert hall, here comes Sugar Free Allstars! The family funk super duo of Chris “Boom!” Wiser and Rob “Dr Rock” Martin first met as music majors in college. Their raison d’etre is to introduce good music and the symphonic experience to new generations in a way that gets the audience out of their seats and movin’ with the orchestra’s beat.

At uniquely designed Sugar Free Allstars orchestral shows, you can expect:

  • ENGAGEMENT – A shared family experience that builds artistic and cultural connections

“After being a part of hundreds of orchestral children’s performances over the years, I have never seen an audience so engaged! Sugar Free Allstars really understand the kids of today and how to keep their attention while exposing them to the symphony experience. The music is great, the show is high energy, the kids have a ball, and parents can bank on the post-concert nap by their little ones!”  Travis Creed – Director of Artistic Operations, Winston-Salem Symphony

  • INTERACTION – Lively audience participation through call and response, role play, singing, dancing and active listening

“Working with the Sugar Free Allstars is refreshing as an orchestral musician. They are easy to work with and the music is fun to play and listen to. One of the best aspects of playing with them is to see how much fun the audience is having.” Mark Osborn – double bass, OKC Philharmoni

  • EDUCATION – Music and activities that develop listening skills, increase movement abilities, build beat and rhythm proficiency, introduce composers and highlight sections of the orchestra

“they bring a positive message about the importance of music”  Jay Wilkinson – trumpet, OKC Philharmonic

  • INSPIRATION – A live symphonic concert experience that helps to motivate and guide young listeners in their journey to become future music lovers, orchestra patrons and arts advocates

“they bring entirely different elements of music and style to the symphony that reaches another niche of concert goers that would normally not attend a symphony orchestra concert”  Sarah Sanford-Brown – violin, OKC Philharmonic

We’ve been encouraging kids to love orchestral music from OKC to Winston-Salem…
and we want kids in your city to fall in love with it, too!
